American Mikaela Shriffin bags her 70th career win as she wins the giant slalom at Soelden. This was in the season-opening World Cup giant slalom this weekend. Shriffin has made two runs of almost-perfect skiing in one of the most challenging hills in the women’s circuit. The Olympian Champion even edged out Lara Gut-Behrami from Switzerland, who is the reigning GS World Champion.
Shiffrin sat .02 behind Gut-Behrami after the opening leg, but was able catch up in the second, which brought her ahead by .14 in the Rettenbach glacier under perfectly sunny weather. It was important for Shiffrin to start out the season strong, which she is now successful with. Many bettors have been winning on Shiffrin’s races, especially during the Olympics.
